I can't be the only person who's never heard about this practice. Can I?

Watching this reminds me of one of those moments in life when my love for my husband grew exponentially. We were at our first Doctor's appointment during our very Surprise pregnancy with VeeVee. The doctor pointed out that I'm super old and the risks involved in being pregnant and super old. Then he gave us brochures telling us about all of the genetic testing that we might want to do. On our way home I asked Chris what he thought, whether we should do the extra testing or not. His answer was perfect "No, it wouldn't matter to us, we know that we would keep the baby and love it either way, so why worry about it?" I did point out the benefits of being prepared if there was any issues, but I still loved knowing that he felt that way.

Wow. I really don't have a comment. How can this be, when there are legions of people desperate to adopt children in this country alone? This is so sad.

Oh my gosh. I agree with Dan and Sam...I am in shock and don't even know how to comment.

Although I love Chris more too!

Oh...I thought that was Dan Rather or something...whatever. Who ever he is I am happy he was upset too!

I heard about this shortly after Sarah Palin's first public appearance at the RNC. It made the rounds on the Down syndrome blogs. It is so tragic. I appreciate you taking the time to post this video on your blog and helping raise awareness on this terrible subject. Apparently a law just passed to make these live birth abortions illegal. I believe it is called the IPA (Infant Protection Act). I also appreciate your husband's attitude. And there's nothing like the doctors to make us feel old when we are pregnant and over 35!

OK I guess I read too many blogs because I tried to find where I first heard about this nurse and couldn't find it and so I am not sure if that bill did pass or if I have it confused with this one http://www.patriciaebauer.com/2008/09/25/kennedy-brownback-3/ which is the "Prenatally and Postnatally Diagnosed Conditions Awareness Act". I'll have to do more research and let you know what I find. If this is not illegal than it definitely needs to be!
