Tuesdays with Kiki

Mackenzie and I have been working out together. When I say working out I mean walking up the hill and doing some abs stuff. On our walk yesterday she said something that was so endearing that I thought I'd record it for prosperity. I know that's not the right word, but I like saying it.

We were walking and talking about birth order. She was analyzing with me the benefits of being a first child and the differences of being in a blended family and stuff. Like, that KaiKai has some first child and some second child in her. She got a little of both.

Kenzie was saying that she'd always wondered if she would be different if I hadn't remarried. Then she asked if I had ever thought that maybe I wouldn't get remarried. I said that I always knew I would get remarried and that I never intended to waste any time, either, and that I knew that there were options out there for me. It's not like I wouldn't be able to find someone, I'm pretty easy to get along with and I don't have unusually high expectations. In fact, Chris said that my motto should be "It's amazing how happy you can be when you lower your expectations."

Kenzie said that she could see what I meant...then she said You know, mom, I bet you could find someone even now if you had to. I was watching you talk to your friend today and I just thought to myself how pretty my mom is. I don't ever notice that, but you really are still good looking.

Wow, and I'm so OLD, but I could still hook a man if I needed to. That's comforting, honey. Thank you :)
